Our history

Associazione Culturale VenetoDoc is born from the ashes of the Associazione Culturale Venetic, which for years made itself conspicuous promoting cultural events, also supported by the Regione of Veneto. As said in the statute (art.2), "Associazione Culturale VenetoDoc is born with the aim of create and give birth to activities, musical performances and pursuits which make the most of the territory of Venetia, looking for the recovery of local cultures and traditions, going deeply into them and spreading them; activities that give importance to young people and their creativity, acquainting them with social life.

Following these principles, Associazione Culturale Venetic, now VenetoDoc, had proposed through the years:

• 2003 – a forum concerning youth problems: meetings and discussions between administrators, recreative associations and, of course, young people.
• 2004 – two days full of music, show and cultural discussions in San Donà, theatrical performances in venetian language, stands with food and wine.
• 2005 – Summer Solstice festival, three days spent in the fluvial area of San Donà di Piave, rediscovering territory, art, the rural roots of "Basso Piave", the typical food, all closed up in a festival not only for young people.

In the following 4 years, Rock and Doc grew and vecame a 10 days festival. Success is given by very popular artists from Italy, that were important to attract a wide audience. We had Max Gazzè, Bluvertigo, Elio e le Storie Tese, Giuliano Palma, Piero Pelù, Roy Paci and many more performing on our stage, surrounded by "the path of venetian typicalness", with kiosks, each one of them with a typical venetian food ("poenta e costa", "sardee in soar", "radicci e fasioi"," gnocchi all'anara"…), craftsmanship market, art shows, lights, sounds and colours that made the park become a meeting point of the Eastern Venetia.

Our motivations

Making culture:

Each initiative we propose, including the most playful, has always brought a message with itself, a cultural matter. Knowing that the most important thing for young people is having fun! In each initiative we devise a "less heavy" and "less scholastic" way to leave a cultural message for the audience in our initiatives

Involving associations and youth groups from the territory:

Our projects aim is to have other youth associations as co-leading characters, because only the synergy and the confrontation between different minds can lead to higher results.

Bringing out the value of our territory:

The rural-artisan context we are surrounded by is the territory we grew up in, which moulded us and conditioned our way of seeing and living our life, is the model that made Venetia one of the most active territories of the world. We want to underline, give value, but above all understand and appreciate these qualities.

We want young people to live the best of their territory, we want our manifestations to incite other public/private authorities to create new opportunities.

The project: R&D Venice DOC Festival (sixth edition)

This year the name is changing! Our festival wants to mark itself as the most important music festival in the province of Venice anf the whole Venetia, bound to the valorisation of products and gastronomy of this territory.

An even more international cast is put beside the enlargement of the audience, not only from this local area, but also from European borderlines. This associates the name of the festival with the name of the main town in which the festival is set.

Music will be the "beating heart", 3 different stages with different kinds of music will attract people inside the great container Venice DOC Festival, where many artistic, cultural, sport and gastronomic offers will find their place.

A children's area, where parents could bring their children; a non.conventional sport area, such as free climbing, soccer, free style basket and more, will try to show sports as a moment of association, emphasizing the importance of beaing together to the prejudice of competitive spirit; atr expositions set in many places of the manifestation, made by young local artists.

This is the winning mix of a festival with great ambitions.
